Aztec Software is seeking a Math Editor who is passionate about education and committed to helping adult learners achieve their academic and career goals. This role is ideal for an experienced educator, instructional content specialist, or educational publishing professional with strong math content expertise and exceptional editing skills.

As a Math Editor, you will play a key role in developing, reviewing, and refining engaging print and digital learning resources that support adult learners in strengthening their math skills and advancing their futures.

What You'll Do

  • Edit, revise, rewrite, proofread, and fact-check math content for print and digital learning products.
  • Ensure instructional materials are accurate, engaging, and aligned with educational standards and best practices.
  • Apply a deep understanding of elementary through high school math concepts, skills, and standards.
  • Review content for clarity, consistency, quality, and adherence to Aztec's editorial guidelines and the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Collaborate with writers, freelancers, vendors, and internal team members throughout the content development process.
  • Evaluate text, graphics, and learning activities to ensure they are appropriate and effective for adult learners.
  • Conduct research to verify content accuracy and keep materials current.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
  • Stay informed about trends, curriculum updates, and best practices in mathematics education, adult learning, and educational publishing.
  • Contribute ideas for new educational products and content enhancements.

What We're Looking For

  • Passion for creating high-quality educational resources that positively impact adult learners.
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics instruction and adult learning principles (andragogy).
  • Experience editing, developing, or teaching math content at the elementary, middle school, and/or high school level.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading and copy-editing abilities.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office applications, PDF markup tools, and other common productivity software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience and/or educational publishing experience.
  • Experience editing educational content strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style is a plus.
